Policy

Health, safety & inclusion

How we protect the people on our job sites and how we treat the people we work for and with.

Health and safety commitment

Electrical work carries real risk, and every person on our crew has the authority to stop work if a situation is unsafe. We follow the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and manufacturer instructions, and we do not take shortcuts to save an hour.

  • Lockout and tagout procedures on every de-energised circuit.
  • Verification of isolation before any conductor is touched.
  • Arc-rated personal protective equipment appropriate to the task.
  • Ladder, fall-protection and confined-space procedures on applicable sites.
  • Documented incident reporting and review, including near misses.
  • Ongoing training and apprentice supervision by licensed journeypersons.

Customer safety

We isolate work areas, control access to open panels, protect finishes and clean up daily. If we find a hazard outside the scope of the job we were called for, we tell you about it in writing whether or not you hire us to correct it.

Inclusion and respect

Everyone deserves the same standard of service and the same standard of treatment. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, marital status, family status or disability — in hiring, in the work we accept, or in the way we treat anyone on site.

Accessibility

We aim to meet the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. That includes accommodating service animals and support persons, communicating in the format that works best for you, offering phone, email and written quoting, and giving advance notice when a planned power interruption may affect medical or mobility equipment. Tell us what you need when you book and we will plan the visit around it.

Respectful workplace

Harassment, bullying and discrimination have no place on our sites. Concerns can be raised directly with management and are investigated confidentially. Our crew is expected to extend the same respect to customers, other trades and the public.

Feedback

If any part of your experience fell short of this policy, please let us know. Feedback is reviewed by management and used to change how we work.
