Warranty

Workmanship warranty

Every installation and repair we complete is backed by a written workmanship warranty. This page explains what that covers in plain language.

Labour and workmanship

We warrant our labour and workmanship for two years from the date of completion on residential work, and one year on commercial installations, unless a longer term is stated in your written quote. If a connection we made fails, a device we installed was wired incorrectly, or work does not meet the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, we return and correct it at no charge.

Materials and equipment

Materials and equipment carry the manufacturer's warranty, which varies by product. Where a manufacturer honours a warranty claim, we coordinate the replacement on your behalf. Labour to install a warranty replacement is covered within the workmanship period above.

What is not covered

  • Damage caused by other trades, rodents, water intrusion, fire, lightning or utility surges.
  • Alterations made by anyone other than our licensed electricians.
  • Customer-supplied fixtures and equipment, except for the labour used to install them.
  • Normal wear items such as lamps, batteries and fuses.
  • Pre-existing conditions we documented and you chose not to have corrected.
  • Work performed on a make-safe or temporary basis and identified as such in writing.

Emergency and diagnostic visits

Diagnostic visits identify a fault and recommend a repair. The diagnosis itself is not warranted against future unrelated faults, but any repair we then perform is covered under the terms above.

Making a claim

Call or email us with your invoice number and a description of the issue. We will book a return visit, typically within two business days, and prioritise anything that affects safety. Keep your invoice and, where applicable, your ESA certificate of acceptance — both are proof of the work performed.

Transferability

The workmanship warranty stays with the property for the remainder of its term when the home or building is sold. The new owner should provide the original invoice when making a claim.
