Services

Fast, professional electrical services in Kingston

Every job is quoted before it starts, permitted where the code requires it, and left clean. Choose a service below or call and describe the problem — we will tell you what it likely is before we arrive.

Choosing

Not sure which service you actually need?

Most people call us with a symptom, not a service name. Breakers that trip when the dryer and the kettle run together. A dead outlet in the kitchen that took three others with it. A flickering light that only misbehaves on damp days. A letter from the insurance company asking about aluminum wiring. You do not need to diagnose it yourself before you pick up the phone.

Tell us the symptom, roughly when the house was built, and what the panel looks like if you can get a photo. Nine times out of ten we can name the likely cause and the likely cost range before we arrive, which means the visit is about confirming and fixing rather than starting from zero.

A few patterns we see constantly in Kingston: a 60 or 100 amp service that has quietly run out of room, backstabbed receptacles from the 70s letting go behind the drywall, shared neutrals in old two-circuit kitchens, and brand new heat pumps landed on panels that were already full. All of those have a proper fix and a cheap fix, and we will explain both honestly.

Every job on this page is done under our ESA contractor licence, with a master electrician reviewing anything structural: service upgrades, rewires, generator tie-ins, fire alarm and emergency lighting. Notifiable work gets filed, inspected and closed out with the certificate of acceptance in your name.

Pricing works the same way across residential and commercial. Defined scopes get a flat, itemized quote in writing before we start. Troubleshooting is time and material, because a fault nobody has found yet cannot honestly be quoted. If something behind the wall changes the scope, we stop and talk to you before spending more of your money.

And if the answer is that you do not need us yet, we will say that too. Telling someone their panel has another decade in it costs us one invoice and earns the next five.

Who does the work

Licensed, insured, and accountable for every circuit

Everything on this services page comes out of work we do in Kingston homes and buildings every week, not from a stock article. If something here does not match what you are seeing at your place, call (613) 686-1582 and we will talk it through before anyone quotes you anything.

Questions

Common questions before you book

Do you take small jobs, or only big projects?

Both. A dead outlet, a ceiling fan on a properly rated box, or a fussy three-way switch is a perfectly good reason to call. If you have a list, tell us the whole list and we will group it into one visit, which is cheaper for you than four separate trips.

Do you work on both houses and commercial buildings?

Yes. Residential service work and commercial contracting run side by side here, which is part of why we can handle the awkward middle ground: multi-unit residential, live-work buildings, mixed-use main street properties and home-based shops with three-phase equipment in the back.

Can you work after hours so my business stays open?

Regularly. Retail lighting retrofits, panel changeovers and anything that needs the power off generally happen overnight or before opening. We plan the outage window with you first and confirm what has to stay energized, like refrigeration, security and network gear.

What if the work turns out to need something more than expected?

We stop and call you. Century homes especially have surprises: a junction buried in a wall, a circuit that feeds four rooms nobody expected, or old wiring that will not take a new termination. You get the options and the revised price before we carry on, never a surprise on the invoice.

Is the ESA permit included in the price you quote?

Yes, and it shows as a line item so you can see it. Every notifiable job is filed under our contractor licence, inspected by the Electrical Safety Authority, and closed out with a certificate of acceptance in your name.
